Adrienne left this morning, and it seems pretty empty around here. To truly express how much we loved having her in Ixtlan and how thankful we are for the time she spent with us would be impossible. There were tears when we said good-bye and there will be more as we adjust to daily life without "Jo-Jo" walking in the back door to save the day at any given time. Adrienne invested so much time, love, and energy into Ivory and Ivory adores her.
As we mentioned before, she spent much of her time at the school to see what the English classes are like. She has not yet made a decision as to whether or not she will be back to teach, but we certainly hope she'll be back at least to visit once in a while. Aside from spending time at the school, she did a great job of getting to know the young group girls here and encouraging bonding between all of us. She also blessed several of the church families by spending a day or an afternoon at their homes, helping out with kids or whatever else. And, she made time for us every single day while she was here, sitting around our kitchen table in the evenings, taking Ivory on walks, and just sharing life with us.
Thanks from the bottom of our hearts! We love you, miss you, and are praying for you!
"o give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. sing unto him […] talk ye of all his wondrous works. glory ye in his holy name. […] seek the Lord, and his strength. […] remember his marvellous works that he hath done [...] he opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. for he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant. and he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness." Psalm 105
This brings such mixed emotions! While I wouldn't want to take away the special times I spent with your family, it sure made saying goodbye so hard. I love you guys so much and thank you for the love you showed me! Give Ivory a squeeze from me!
