Considering that cement is one of the most easily accessible resources around here (and one of the cheapest), we decided to give concrete countertops a try in our kitchen. Grant did such a good job researching and building everything in his normal careful, meticulous way, and we are very pleased with the result. They've been in for a couple weeks now and I'm loving them!

| A little conference with dad on a visit to the shop one day; you cans see the countertops in their molds in the background. Grant built molds out of melamine and poured into those. |
| Had to document a photo of Titus with Daddy... even if he isn't looking. |
| Just hanging out at the shop... |
| ... and of course, no trip to the shop is complete without a visit to see Lalo & Silvia's chickens (or rather, turkeys) |
| Ok so here are the tops in the molds closer up. This one has a hole for the sink, which made this particular piece very fragile. There were just so many ways for it to break. It did crack on installation on one of those skinnier parts but Grant patched it up and you hardly notice. In the background of this picture, you can see some of the smaller, square countertop pieces. |
| And here they are installed! I wanted to wait and get a picture when everything was all done, but the cabinet doors aren't done yet. Grant has had a lot of other work in the woodshop lately, so that's good. The drawers are done, though! |
Any technical questions should be directed to my husband. ;)
Your kitchen looks lovely! I'd love to wash dishes in that sink :)
