I guess we all have to eat our words sometimes. Right now, it's my turn (Grant). Last summer, before driving the Jimmy down here, I was pretty vocal about the fact that "if we take the Jimmy down to Mexico, it's not coming back." The plan was to import it and sell it when we move home.
Well, things don't always go as planned, and the importation process just didn't happen, which makes it illegal to sell in Mexico. So, we are hitting the road again and taking the Jimmy back to the U.S. before the six-month temporary permit expires, and storing it until we move back this summer. Thankfully, it all worked out in a way that we can drive it back and be home for Seth's baptism this coming weekend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short week with Matt and Kim down here. The time flew by and they were a huge help and fun to be with. We plan to take them to the airport today (Monday). Ivory is going to fly back with them and spend a few days with her grandmas. Hannah, Titus, and I plan to leave from the airport in the Jimmy and start heading north. Lord willing, we will arrive in Mahomet sometime on Thursday.
A few prayer requests:
- That Matt, Kim, and Ivory could have uneventful travels
- That we would have safety on the roads and no mechanical issues
- That Titus would travel well
- That border crossing (Tuesday afternoon) would go smoothly
- That Seth could have a blessed baptism weekend
Thanks for your prayers and support!
"o give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. sing unto him […] talk ye of all his wondrous works. glory ye in his holy name. […] seek the Lord, and his strength. […] remember his marvellous works that he hath done [...] he opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. for he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant. and he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness." Psalm 105
