going visiting & grapefruit

So you know how in my last post, I was explaining that sometimes its hard to convince myself/ourselves to get out of our comfort zone and go put our Spanish out there for all to hear and just visit people? Well, it is hard... but we did do it tonight, and it went so well! We went to visit the family of one of the guys who works for Marshall who was recently involved in a hunting accident. We didn't stay long, but we did enjoy our visit with them a lot.

As we were wading through a puddle (of mud and other things) on the way back, Grant commented... "you know, its amazing how the things that need to go well... do". God definitely provides. We went, understood most of what was going on, and we will do it again.

On another topic... one thing we are really enjoying lately are the fruits (literally) of Marshall's labor. He does a lot of growing things, and several of those things are grapefruit and orange trees... almost in our backyard! There's just something really exciting about getting a grapefruit off a tree and eating it - maybe because that would never happen in the Midwest? I'm not sure. But we've been enjoying the fruit - it has really good flavor!

  1. Hannah,

Fresh oranges and grapefruit (almost) in your backyard - sounds wonderful! Your comments made me think about the extra blessing of finding fruit where it is somewhat unexpected. It seems that would also be true of the fruit of the Spirit. We all have opportunity - probably every day - to bear fruit to those that don't expect it, letting them enjoy the "flavor" of love, meekness, temperance, . . . - that only Christ can ripen to perfection.

    Love, Dad W.
