a few scattered thoughts

I snapped a few pictures at Jovenes the other night and thought I'd share. This was post-soccer game - they were just hanging out waiting to eat snack. They like having their picture taken. :)

The majority of the group that was there on Saturday... sometimes there's more, sometimes there's less, sometimes there's different kids... but they always have a lot of energy!

The girls - Luz and Stephani

The boys - Roberto (this is the boy that Grant has been spending some time with on Saturday mornings), David, and Armando.

with their chaperone, who looks like he's really working hard. :)

These girls were getting snack ready - left to right is Lupita, Issa, and Blanca. You can pray for Blanca; she's a young teenager with a desire, it seems, to do what's right. Pray that she would continue to come to Jovenes and that the Lord would work in her life.

We've had a fairly typical week/weekend around here. There was a festival last week, and we're really thankful that's over, since it means we can actually sleep at night instead of waking up to firecrackers at 2 in the morning. Marshall and Jan are visiting their family right now, so things are a little different with them gone. This weekend, a group of church members (all Mexican) went to Barra Vieja to spend the weekend and fellowship with the believers there. Matt was saying that this is really the first time that a group like that has gone to Barra, so its very exciting to see the believers here reaching out to others, even if it means a 13-hour drive. With churches so close in the United States, we definitely take that proximity for granted sometimes. We're so thankful that they were willing to go in spite of the traveling it required.

Thanks to all of your for all your prayers for us, the ministry down here, and the church in general. It struck me this afternoon that I should mention here that the brother who prayed in church prayed for the churches in the States as well... so you all are being remembered down here too! Even though miles separate us, it is such a blessing to have the opportunity to pray for one another.
