There were both blessings and challenges that came along with being part of the panel. One of the blessings, was, obviously, just the opportunity to share Christ and how our belief in Him affected our experiences on campus and infiltrates our lives. We shared our marriage story and talked about our church body. One of the greatest challenges was listening to some of the other panelists from other minority religious groups (7th Day Adventist, specifically) talk about their beliefs. It was a perfect example of how easily truth and deception can become mixed and how disguised the deception can be.
Talking about what we believed that night was good preparation as we become missionaries. It gave us an opportunity to share the Truth. It prompted us to sit down and review what we believe and why. Most of all, it drew us together as a couple, united in what we believe and how we are living for Christ.
This was a special and unique opportunity in that we were explicitly called to share the Gospel. The questions for the evening were staring us in the face and screaming, "tell everyone about Jesus!" But sometimes, I know that the opportunities aren't that obvious. And we miss a few! Let's pray that we'll never miss an opportunity to share His love, though... because of what He has done for us!
Share His love by telling
What the Lord has done for you
Share His love by sharing of your faith
And show the world that Jesus Christ
Is real to you ev'ry moment ev'ry day
