... arrived a little after 3 p.m. July 15, 2014! He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20 3/4 inches long. We feel so blessed!
Thanks so much to each of you for praying for a successful delivery. It was successful, just not in the way that we had planned, but that is okay. Titus is a miracle baby and we are praising God for His protection. My water broke late Sunday night/early Monday morning. We went into the hospital around 1 p.m. on Monday. After laboring for over 24 hours, my blood pressure dropped, affecting the baby's heart beat, which made the nurses stop the pitocin. Without the pitocin, contractions stopped which required a C-section because my water had been broke for 48 hours and they were worried about infection. We were disappointed to have been unsuccessful with a VBAC, but after opening me up, they discovered that the uterus had began to rupture. Further labor would definitely have completely ruptured it.
We are both doing fine. Grant has been such a wonderful support and great daddy - in his words: "I'm pretty sure [Titus] is the cutest little guy I've ever seen." The only complications are a risk of infection for both of us because my water had been broke for so long. Because of that, Titus was taken to the NICU for antibiotics, but is doing great.
We can't wait for Ivory to meet him! Here are a couple pictures:
"o give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. sing unto him […] talk ye of all his wondrous works. glory ye in his holy name. […] seek the Lord, and his strength. […] remember his marvellous works that he hath done [...] he opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. for he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant. and he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness." Psalm 105
