The other day, Grant said to me,
"You know, I think God has been preparing us for Mexico over the past year. In Mexico there's a lot of dust, and we have a lot of dust too."
(I have to admit that when he said that he was actually looking at the shelf where the dishes go... but its impossible to keep clean when we are banging on every corner of the house... and when I spend all my time lesson planning instead of dusting... although I wasn't real great about dusting before I started student teaching anyway...)
Anyway, we do have a lot of dust... house projects create that! We're thankful for progress, though - the living room has an end in sight and we have a just a few more projects on the short list. :) Many people have asked us what our plans are for our house when we move, and to be honest its something that we're still waiting on the Lord's direction for. We are willing to sell or rent and we're just waiting to see what His perfect plan is!
Ultimately, though, we know that one day none of our possessions will matter, and what a glorious thought! God continues to teach us to maintain an eternal perspective amid all of the earthly decisions we have to make.
"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return" (Genesis 3:19)
"o give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. sing unto him […] talk ye of all his wondrous works. glory ye in his holy name. […] seek the Lord, and his strength. […] remember his marvellous works that he hath done [...] he opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. for he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant. and he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness." Psalm 105
hahaha, ooooh dust. We had a huge sandstorm out here a few weeks ago and even with all the windows shut the entire inside of the house was coated!
